Experiencing how sound guides, restores, and heals
With Andrea Wenger and Wendy Brown
Tuesday, November 7th
7:15 – 9:00 p.m.
Andrea Wenger and I have been offering yoga and sound events for over two years. We are always learning and expanding this offering to provide the most profound physical/energetic/spiritual experience for everyone.
We have discovered that an hour-long yin yoga practice (coupled with breath work and meditation) is a powerful preparation for receiving the benefits of a 45-minute sound bath.
Yin yoga is meditative and encourages deep introspection of the body and the mind. Yin gently opens the body. Through longer pose holds, you are invited to see your discomfort, breathe into it, and hopefully release it’s energetic hold on the mind and body.
Akin to a black salve, yin helps to draw out our splinters–our physical, emotional, and mental blockages–and hence, prepares the body and mind to fully receive the benefits of a sound immersion.
What is a sound immersion?
It is the intentional use of sound (drum, crystal singing bowls, voice, bells, and other instruments) as a means to elevate the vibrational frequency of the body. The result depends upon the individual, their openness to the process, and their intention.
NOTE: It is important that you be completely comfortable for this experience. If you would like to lie down, yoga mats and blankets will be available. Please bring a pillow (for head and/or under knees), favorite blanket, and anything else that will help you relax and feel safe and supported while lying down for a period of time.
Arrival begins at 7:00 p.m.
